St. Gabriel the Archangel Easter with Dignity

During the season of Lent, the St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Women’s League (CWL) ran a fundraising campaign to support Chestermere Community Services. This campaign, Easter with Dignity, consisted of the local CWL members asking parishioners of St. Gabriel Parish to pick up one plastic egg after the masses during Lent. Each plastic egg had the name of a business that the individual was to purchase a minimum $25.00 gift card from and then return to the CWl before the Easter weekend. These gift cards are given to the Christmas with Dignity program that is organized by the City of Chestermere, which is an emergency fund that is available year round for families in Chestermere. All people deserve to be treated with dignity and have their human rights respected, no matter who they. As Mother Teresa said, “Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love.” The Catholic Women’s League of Canada is a national organization rooted in gospel values that calls its members to holiness through service to the people of God.
