2018 tax rate bylaw passed by council May 7

After approving a 0.913 per cent tax increase at the April 16 council meeting, Chestermere city council approved all three readings of the 2018 tax rate bylaw at the May 7 meeting.

Under the Municipal Government Act the tax rate bylaw gives the city the ability to authorize the taxation rates for properties within the city for the 2018 tax year.

With the passing of this bylaw, city staff are now able to begin the process of preparing and distributing tax notices beginning in June.
