City Councillor appointed as liaison to CCC

City and Council Briefs

Chestermere City Councillor Mel Foat was appointed as the council liaison to the Chestermere Chamber of Commerce (CCC) at the July 16 regular meeting of council.

As the council representative, Foat provide a connection between City Council and the Chamber and be a conduit to relay information between the two groups.

As the city council representative, Foat will not have membership voting privileges within the Chamber.

Council made the decision to strengthen ties with the CCC because of their strategic plan priorities on governance and increasing the non-residential tax base in the city.

With the appointment of Foat as Council liaison the CCC and City Council will continue to work together to ensure that local businesses are represented during the decision making process at city hall.
