Police respond to firearms complaint in Wrangler Park

One male arrested for firearms offences

Strathmore RCMP with the assistance of the Calgary Police Service (CPS) have charged a Calgary man with firearms related offences.

At about 9 a.m. on May 31, both RCMP and CPS responded to a complaint in Wrangler Park, Rocky View County, of a male threatening people with a firearm.

CPS officers arrested the suspect male without issue and handed him over to Strathmore RCMP who took over the investigation.

Police reported that no one was injured in the course of this incident.

In the course of the investigation, RCMP have charged 64-year-old Calgarian, Johnnie Edward Alexis with Assault with a weapon and Uttering threats and firearm offences.

Alexis is scheduled to appear in Strathmore Provincial Court on July 17. He has been released pending his court date.
