Small Business Week Coming to Chestermere

City and Chamber to support local businesses with networking opportunities and seminars

The Chestermere Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the city’s Economic Development department as set to host the first Small business week this October.
“Chestermere will host a Small Business Week conference and we’re excited to support the Chamber with this initiative,” said City of Chestermere Economic Development Manager Catherine Proulx.
Small Business Week will run from Oct. 14 to 19 and include seminars and networking opportunities that have been designed specifically for small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs in the community.
“We used the information gathered from the Community Business Survey we conducted online in 2017 and sourced subject experts,” said Chestermere Chamber of Commerce President Michelle Eldjarnson.
Some of the Small Business Week session topics will include seminars on; cannabis, social media, business planning, video content marketing as well as other topics that have been identified as important to Chestermere business owners.
“We acknowledge what businesses in the community and surrounding area want and are here to support them.
“Hosting Small Business Week is just one of the many events the business community can look forward to seeing from the Chamber in 2018/2019,” said Eldjarnson.
Small Business Week is open to all business, not just those who are members of the Chestermere Chamber of Commerce.
A discount is available to chamber members.
To make Small Business Week more accessible to the business community, session are being held throughout the day, including in the evening.
Eldjarnson does recommend that people register early to ensure they can attend the sessions that are of interest to them.
