City investigating transit link with Calgary

Chestermere’s city council passed a motion directing city staff to expedite discussions with the City of Calgary for the development of a public transit service plan between the two municipalities.

“I think that’s a fantastic idea,” said Councillor Laurie Bold in support of the decision.

The work to collaborate on a transit connection between Chestermere and Calgary along 17th Avenue in Calgary, continuing to Chestermere Boulevard here in the city comes from a Dec 7, 2018 Inter-municipal Committee with Calgary, were the question of whether the MAX Purple BRT line that serves the East Hills shopping centre could be extended to Chestermere.
