Driver lucky to be alive after Glenmore Trail and Highway 791 collision

March 14 collision resulted in one driver being taken to hospital for minor injuries

On March 14 around 9:42 a.m., Strathmore RCMP were dispatched to the intersection of Glenmore Trail and Highway 791 for a two-vehicle collision, which involved two Rocky View County residents.

Once Strathmore RCMP arrived on the scene, they discovered a pick-up truck and a 5-ton shipping truck were involved in the collision.

Strathmore RCMP Cst. Denzil Morey said the collision is still under investigation, but at this time it appears the pick-up truck which was heading north bound entered the intersection when it was unsafe to do so.

“It could have been a lot worse than it was,” Morey said.

He added, the pick-up truck diver was transported to the hospital for test and observation for what appeared to be minor injuries.

“His truck took a hard hit, he’s very-very lucky,” Morey said.
