Theft from Chestermere store is currently being investigated

Local business owner warns community to be vigilant after theft

An unknown person stole $1,000 and 150 blank cheques from Your Dollar Store With More in Chestermere on March 13 around 10:50 a.m.

The person walked into the store and asked an employee to use the restroom, however, instead they went into the unlocked employee room and took stock change, bills, and a blank cheque book.

“We fixed the lock immediately,” said the Owner of Your Dollar Store With More Owner Viren Dobariya.

“I just want to make sure other businesses in the town are being vigilant and doing whatever they can to prevent this type of thing in the future,” Dobariya said.

He added, if the lock to the employee room hadn’t been broken, and the person was unable to get into the room, the situation could have been much worse.

“I just want to make sure the other businesses in this area are watching out, and their being careful with his guy around,” Dobariya said.
