Chestermere youth to appear in Provincial Court following bear spray incident

Bear spray was deployed during an altercation between two groups of people

On Sept. 13, at approximately 5:41 p.m., Chestermere RCMP responded to an altercation between two groups in the Lakeview area. 

One group consisted of youths, and the other consisted of adult males at a residence. 

During a verbal altercation, bear spray was produced by a youth in one group and used on a male in the other group. 

As a result, one youth was arrested on scene and later released to appear in Provincial Court. 

The matter remains under investigation which may result in further arrests and charges.
