Police investigating injury collision

One person sent to hospital after highway collision

Strathmore RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision east of Chestermere Oct. 22.

At about 6:25 p.m. police responded to Highway 1 and Highway 791 for a two-vehicle collision.

RCMP said in a press release that their preliminary investigation indicates that a stolen truck that was headed north crossed the path of a westbound car and was struck.

The driver of the stolen truck, an adult female, fled the scene on foot but was quickly apprehended by police.

She was assessed by EMS and transported to hospital due to injuries sustained in the collision.

The occupants of the car, and adult female and female child were treated by EMS on scene for minor injuries.

Police are continuing to investigate the collision with the assistance of an RCMP collision analyst.

“All contributing factors related to this collision are being considered,” wrote the RCMP in a press release.
