Chestermere’s 5th Annual Parade of Garage Sales will take place on May 5th from 9am to 3pm. Last year we had over 70 homes registered and over 100 separate sales. This year is bound to be even bigger and better. CHESTERMERE – The Chestermere Health Centre is one step closer to a reality, as the officially groundbreaking ceremony for the facility was held on March 29. A group of around 70 people attended the event at the future site of the health centre, which is located at 288 Kinniburgh Blvd. in Chestermere. The ceremony began at 10 a.m. with Akesh Aheer singing O Canada, and developer Bob Gaidhar of Prime Funds welcoming the crowd to the event. CHESTERMERE – The Chestermere Agricultural Society is proud to host the Country Connections Spring Festival for another year. The fair will be held at the Chestermere Recreation Centre on Saturday, May 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be lots of activities, food and fun for the whole family including a rabbit show and competition, rabbit hopping contests, the Quilters Guild Show and Sale, a trade show, kid zone and entertainment stage, PetFest, the Parade of Garage Sales and more. LANGDON – Whether they will be working hard to make the audience laugh or cry, the talented individuals that make up the Langdon Theatre Association (LTA) group promise not to disappoint during their final performances of the season. CHESTERMERE – With the official date of the provincial election called for Monday, April 23, members of the YELL (Youth Encouraging Lasting Leadership) group quickly got to work in organizing an all-candidates forum. Fire truck restoration project receives some help

CHESTERMERE – Local car enthusiast Vince Young is the main man for the Chestermere Historical Foundation’s fire truck restoration project. The truck in question is Chestermere’s first ever fire truck, which was in used by the local volunteer fire department from the late 60′s until 1981. Now it is in the hands of the CHF, who hope to fully restore it and get it back on the road. Chestermere Learning Centre now enrolling

CHESTERMERE – The new Chestermere Learning Centre, which is operated under Edleun (Education Learning Universe), is set to open on July 1. The three-level facility will offer early education programs for children ranging from six weeks to 12 years of age. It will offer preschool, kindergarten, before and after school care, tutoring and summer camps. LANGDON – Longtime resident of Langdon, Kathy Hadley, underwent aggressive chemotherapy and radiation treatments for breast cancer back in 2008 and 2009. Unfortunately, the cancer has metastasized into her bones, lymph nodes and lungs. With a loving husband and ten children, five of them biological and five that are either adopted or are under joint-guardianship, Hadley has a lot to live for. CHESTERMERE – Kelsey Simpson and Rebecca Richardson are two dedicated and hard working local girls who do show jumping and ride out of Riqueza Riding Academy, just east of Chestermere. The pair worked hard to successfully put together the “Changing Our Stars” fundraiser that was held in Chestermere this past weekend. The event was organized in support of the Rainbow Society of Alberta, a group that grants wishes to chronically ill children. CHESTERMERE – Near the end of last year, the Chestermere Chamber of Commerce was officially established, with the first executive board meeting held on Nov. 8. The Canadian Chamber of Commerce establishes a vital connection between business and the federal government, and impacts public policy and decision-making to the benefit of businesses, communities and families. The Chestermere Chamber of Commerce (CCC) does the same on a local level.
